Day 19: 120 year old traditional Vitenamese house

Thao happens to have relatives who still own one of the oldest houses standing in her region.

This house is about 120 years old and has been used for various film productions.  This house has remained in her relative's ownership.  There has been many large money offers made for this house.  The government has tried many times to take this property away from her relatives but without success.

However, for me, my favourite part was when we attacked a tamarind tree and started consuming copious amount of tamarind.  The sour goodness was just the best.  Never before I had natural tamarind, only from a jar when making curry.

Overall, we had a lovely outing and learned lots about Thao's relatives and their history.

Next stop, the Mekong Delta!
